On Sunday, June 15, Fr. Toby led a ceremony to bless the parish’s new community garden and those who will tend to it. St. Mary’s Community Garden is a partnership between St. Mary’s parish and Circle of Friends, an organization that creates community and belonging for those who are transitioning out of homelessness. By inviting our Friends to garden alongside parishioners and other community members, it is our hope that the Holy Spirit will use this garden as a way of bringing God’s people out of isolation and into community.
We had great fun with Circle of Friends this past Wednesday during our garden program’s first planting day! From radishes to carrots, from strangers to friends, some beautiful seeds were sown indeed. If you haven’t already, be sure to explore the garden sometime!
