2017 is a grace-filled year here at St. Mary’s, because we celebrate the 160th anniversary of our Parish. Construction on the first church building extended from 1854 to 1856, and the assignment of a residing Pastor the following year, officially marked the establishment of the Parish of St. Mary of the Seven Sorrows in 1857. So we will thank God for the multitude of graces showered upon several generations of parishioners, and we too will renew our commitment to our Baptismal promises that we may be strengthened in faith and more fervent in sharing our faith with others.
2017 also commemorates the centennial of the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima to three shepherd children. Together with them, all her spiritual children were asked to do penance and pray the Rosary for the conversion of sinners and for peace in the world. Let us rejoice then, that together with our Lady, and all her spiritual children, we can participate in God’s plan of Salvation. We give glory to God for his most precious gift: Jesus, our Emmanuel. May he reign in our hearts throughout the year and forevermore!
With Love & Prayers,
In the Risen Christ,
